Marketing is Great!
In the midst of our county's "depression" period, you'd think marketing is something most companies would drop. Well, that's far from off. In fact, we are encouraged to spend more money! Yay!
Restaurants are dying as customers decrease. Retail shops are closing, but there are sales everywhere. Gadgets and electronics have gone full force for the season. This is great. While it does feed to the whole "consumerism" bullshit, I do find it great that marketing is what's driving business.
Even if we as the consumer should be saving our bucks and be more frugal, what's a few bucks going out to eat? What about buying a new cell phone? How about a TV? Fuck yes. I've been reading that SPAM is selling like hotcakes, and I love it.
At this point, I can't tell if Im being sarcastic or satisfied. While I do think its interesting that we are encouraged to spend more money when without, it's great to see that this line of work is still busy doing what they do best. Does this all make sense??
